Special Dancers Help!

I've been playing Taiko no Tatsujin Plus on Android, from the Google Play Store, and have noticed an odd thing. There doesn't seem to be any special dancers, yet the update previews for the Touhou and Idolm@ster songs show special dancers.

Would anyone know if this an option that could have been disabled when I was fumbling through the settings that are entirely in Japanese?
